Modes
Aerobic
- Large muscle group activity: Walking, cycling
- Leading on to: Cross training, rowing, stepping, group based aerobics, swimming
Resistance
Contraindications
- SBP>180 mmHg or DBP > 110 mmHg
- Overhead resistance exercise
- Valsalva manoeuvre (holding your breath and staining)
- Isometric contractions (pushing a weight without it moving)
- Do not use resistance as only form of exercise

Aerobic
- 3-7 days a week not early morning

- 2-3 days a week not early morning

- 30-60 minutes session; continuous exercise if possible.
